The Finance Manager is the operational backbone of SOLS Energy's Finance & Accounts department, working directly under the CFO to bridge strategic financial direction with day-to-day execution. What do I need?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent (completed or in progress).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and the Companies Act 2016.
  • Hands-on experience in full-set accounts, group consolidation, and management reporting.
  • Proven experience liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Xero, SQL, SAP, or equivalent.

What will I do?

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and month-end closing.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements and variance analysis against budget.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts in coordination with department heads.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, banking transactions and treasury matters.
  • Maintain and improve the accounting system, internal controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements, including LHDN tax filings, SST, EPF, SOCSO, EIS and other regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and other statutory bodies.
  • Oversee the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing with proper controls.
  • Support grant and donor financial reporting where applicable, ensuring funds are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support business decision-making.
  • Supervise, coach and develop finance team members.
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks and support work as required.
