Job Overview
The Energy Access Manager plans, coordinates, and delivers SOLS Foundation's Energy Access programmes, primarily the Kampung Solar initiative and ATAP applications for non-domestic NGO sites. This hands-on, field-connected role manages funder relationships, hardware deployment logistics, site assessments, and community feedback so off-grid and underserved households receive reliable renewable energy.

What do I need?
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in programme management, project coordination, or field operations, preferably in renewable energy, NGO, or rural development sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously with strong documentation and tracking discipline.
- Experience managing stakeholder or funder relationships, able to communicate professionally in writing and in person.
- Comfortable working in field conditions, including site visits, rural communities, and occasional travel.
- Strong command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, written and spoken, able to communicate with rural community members and corporate funders alike.
- Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Docs, and project tracking tools, able to build and maintain deployment trackers independently.
What will I do?
- Own the end-to-end delivery of Kampung Solar deployments, from funder commitment tracking through to installation sign-off and community feedback.
- Manage ATAP applications for non-domestic NGO sites, including power study coordination, TNB meter applications, and data logger procurement and testing.
- Maintain accurate deployment trackers and update funder commitment sheets weekly.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team on product shipment timelines and ensure hardware arrives ahead of deployment windows.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for funders such as PEGT (Petronas) and Google, preparing master proposals and communicating proactively on timelines and changes.
- Track and manage hardware allocation across deployment batches and plan quarterly orders based on committed and projected pipelines.
- Manage the Energy Access field team and plan field trip schedules and logistics for installation and feedback visits.
- Compile monthly programme reports and support 6-month community impact feedback collection for funder reporting.
- Spend time on the ground to surface field problems, identify deployment bottlenecks, and escalate them with proposed solutions.
