Job Overview

The Impact Data Analyst Intern supports the organisation’s monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) operations under the Impact Design and Evaluation department. This role involves assisting in data management, reporting, and administrative support to ensure accurate and timely information for decision-making.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and system maintenance, while being exposed to the use of emerging technologies—such as automation, AI, and data visualisation tools—to improve the efficiency and impact of organisational data practices.

What do I need?

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Open to current undergraduate or graduate students from recognised institutions, fresh graduates, or early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in data analytics or impact measurement.
  • Background in data analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, statistics, or other related disciplines.
  • Basic proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) and data visualisation software (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio). Proficiency in programming languages (Python, SQL, R) is an added advantage.
  • Interest in AI, automation, and digital innovation for data management and impact analysis.
  • Willingness to travel for field data collection and programme visits, including to remote locations.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

What will I do?

In this role you will:

Primary Role

  • Support data management and administrative functions under the Impact Design and Evaluation department.
  • Contribute to administrative and operational tasks related to programme monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL).
  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and maintaining programme and impact data.
  • Participate in field data collection activities through surveys, interviews, and programme visits, which may include rural and remote locations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate key insights.
  • Support documentation, filing, and data governance processes to ensure data accuracy and accountability.
  • Participate in departmental and organisational meetings, training sessions, and programme reviews.

Secondary Role

  • Assist in the design and improvement of data systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Support research and experimentation with new technologies such as AI, automation, and data visualisation tools.
