The Junior WordPress developer works closely with the Lead WordPress Developer to build and maintain front-end websites, across multiple brands, focused on user interface and user experience.

She/he will set goals that relate to ensuring users are satisfied with their experience and will work closely with the technology team to influence designs or processes based on key insights into the needs of our users.

What do I need?

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• Possess at least a diploma in any relevant field
• Knowledgeable in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS
• Proficient knowledge of WordPress site development, including themes and plugins
• Knowledgeable in user experience, user journeys and user interface design;
• Knowledgeable in cross-browser compatibility and developing responsive websites.
• Proficient in Adobe Software to design web graphics i.e Photoshop, Illustrator, etc
• Digital skills knowledge (online research, Google Workspace - Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
• You are required to provide a portfolio that showcases your web design skills.

Necessary technical, functional or language skills

• Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Organises and completes tasks accurately and in a clear and transferable manner;
• Establishes, builds and maintains effective working relationships with staff to facilitate the provision of support;
• Consistently approaches work with a positive, constructive attitude, an eye for detail and seeking to improve processes;
• Demonstrates openness to feedback, improvement, change and has the ability to manage complexities;
• Demonstrates integrity by modelling the SOLS values and ethical standards.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Mandarin / Tamil / Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is an added advantage

What will I do?

• Designing and building the website front-end, primarily in WordPress.
• Development of project documentation and scoping requirements.
• Researching and configuring plugins to add the required functionality to the site.
• Editing and integrating optimised images and videos.
• Maintaining WordPress themes and plugins.
• Preparation and uploading of site content and translations.
• Conducting website performance tests, troubleshooting issues and optimising site speed and SEO.
