Selvan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. His first professional role was as an engineering geologist in a geotechnical consultant company based in Kuala Lumpur. He was involved in several sub-surface investigations for infrastructure and property development projects.
He then pursued studies at the University of Malaya and graduated with a Master's in Real Estate. He later joined a multi-national real estate firm as a research analyst and consultant. He had been involved in research and consultancy for various local and international property developers, investment banks, etc.
He learnt about SOLS Foundation from a friend and felt impressed with its mission, vision, and working culture. He eventually joined the organisation in 2022 as an administrative officer cum Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officer. He will be involved in SOLS Foundation's programmes such as Achieve, Skills Hub, Meta Boost, Solar Academy.
